No coração da zona rural de Jaguaribe, no Ceará, Dona Eliane, agricultora de 61 anos, mantém viva uma tradição passada por gerações: o preparo de lambedores naturais. Moradora do Sítio Fuzil, localizado a cerca de 25 quilômetros da cidade, ela utiliza ingredientes como o cupim do mato e o mangará da bananeira, também conhecido como coração da bananeira, para criar xaropes que têm conquistado moradores da região por seus benefícios à saúde.
O lambedor de cupim do mato, uma das especialidades de Dona Eliane, é feito com apenas dois ingredientes: cupim do mato e açúcar. O processo é simples, mas exige paciência. “Primeiro, cozinho bem os cupins, depois coo para garantir que não fique nenhum resíduo”, explica. Após o cozimento, o líquido é misturado ao açúcar e levado ao fogo novamente até adquirir uma consistência melada, transformando-se no lambedor. Popularmente, esse xarope é usado para tratar tosses persistentes e aliviar problemas respiratórios.
Já o lambedor de mangará da bananeira, conhecido também como coração da bananeira devido ao seu formato, é preparado com uma combinação de ingredientes que potencializam suas propriedades medicinais. Além do mangará, a receita leva limão, alho, romã, malva e açúcar. “Fervemos tudo junto até formar o xarope, que é ótimo para gripes e dores de garganta”, conta Dona Eliane. O mangará, além de ser rico em nutrientes, tem propriedades anti-inflamatórias, enquanto o limão e a romã reforçam a imunidade. A malva, por sua vez, contribui com suas propriedades calmantes.
A tradição dos lambedores, transmitida para Dona Eliane por sua mãe e avó, reflete o profundo conhecimento do sertanejo sobre os recursos naturais. “Aqui no sertão, a gente aprende desde cedo a usar o que a terra nos dá. Esses lambedores não são só remédios, são parte da nossa história”, destaca.
